SANTA MARIA, Calif. - Cam Walker has garnered more college interest than perhaps any Central Coast basketball player since Paso Robles star Derek Jasper nearly a decade ago. On Monday, the Righetti star announced that he has made a verbal commitment to play collegiately at Stanford University.
Walker - who had offers and college interest from all over the nation - had narrowed his list down to four schools earlier this month. He chose the Cardinal over Arizona State, Cal, and San Diego State.
The 6-foot 7-inch Walker was named the PAC-7's Co-MVP this past season, sharing the distinction with former Atascadero star and current Florida State incoming freshman Robbie Berwick.
Walker is currently playing summer basketball with the Compton Magic.
