People in Arroyo Grande were walking for a cause Saturday.
About 150 people walked from Finn's restaurant to Strother Park Saturday morning.
The group Captive Hearts put on the walk-a-thon with several other San Luis Obispo sober living facilities as part of National Drug and Alcohol Recovery Month.
All of the pledge money will go towards scholarships for men and women who cannot afford recovery treatment.
"People know that this is a specific day where we celebrate the sobriety and people walking away from the things that held them in bondage," said Chaplain Judy Boen, who works with Captive Hearts.
After walking about six miles the participants rewarded themselves with some good barbeque.
