Walmart's controversial proposal to expand in Lompoc could end up being a decision made by voters. The Environmental Impact report is in the process of being finalized. All of the information will be presented to the Lompoc Planning Commission in August. No matter which way the planning commission votes, it could be appealed by either group. The city council could then decide on the proposal or vote to put it on the ballot. Mike Siminski, mayor of Lompoc, said, "We voted to put it on the ballot and the people overwhelmingly approved Walmart when it was put to a vote of the people."

See why some believe the expansion would have a positive impact on the city and why others disagree, coming up on KSBY News at 6.
