Warm weekend ahead before the cool down

Through Saturday, a warming trend can be expected due to a weakening onshore flow beneath an upper level high pressure. A warm air mass will linger through the weekend, with Saturday being the warmest. Valleys may see triple digits. There is enough onshore flow to keep the marine layer at the coast. Beach temps will range in the 70's. Next week, an increasing marine layer and a low pressure system should bring a cooling period. A developing southerly swell can create a high risk of rip currents at south and southwest facing beaches.
