Warming shelters will open in Santa Barbara County

A couple of warming shelters in Santa Barbara County will be open through some of these cold nights expected on the Central Coast.

The Good Samaritan Shelter in Santa Maria and the New Life Christian Academy in Lompoc will be open from 6:00 p.m. To 6:00 a.m. when temperatures dip below 35 degrees, or when it rains.

Both of those shelters will remain open through April. Pets are also welcome.

No warming shelters are available at this time in San Luis Obispo County, partially because of a lack of funding.
