LONG BEACH, Calif. (AP) - A young dolphin who got stuck in Long Beach harbor has managed to swim back to sea.
Officials say the dolphin may have been chasing fish when it swam into a wharf area surrounded by metal sheeting at high tide on Monday morning. When the tide fell, the dolphin apparently got stuck.
Divers cut holes in the walls Tuesday afternoon and by Wednesday morning the dolphin was gone, apparently swimming out to sea during the night.
