Two fundraisers planned for this weekend are benefiting local families.
The first is on Saturday at Shouts of Grace church in Grover Beach.
It's a BBQ fundraiser for Doug Navolt.
He was critically injured in a motorcycle accident last year, and doctors say his recovery is expected to take another year.
Tickets for the barbecue are $25 and include chicken or tri-tip along with beans, bread and salad.
The fundraiser is from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.

The second fundraiser is on Sunday for Lilly Bumpus.
Lilly is a local infant battling a rare form of cancer.
She is currently undergoing her third round of chemotherapy, and will need another surgery soon.
A benefit concern featuring 10 local bands will take place at The Ranch restaurant in San Miguel from noon to 10:30 p.m.
Tickets include a barbecue meal and are $15 in advance and $20 at the door.
