Weight loss apps might not encourage users to stay healthy

A new study shows that most weight loss applications don't help people change their behaviors.

Researchers evaluated 30 of the most people weight loss apps on the market and rated them on how effective the apps were.

Many apps focused on meal planning and nutrition, but didn't help motivate and encourage users to stick with diet and exercise.

The study found free apps were just as effective as those requiring a fee.
