Weight loss surgery may reverse the genetic signs of aging

A small study found the Chromosome Caps called Telomeres grew longer in certain patients after Bariatric surgery.

The Telomeres normally shorten as we age. The growth was two to three percent.

The patients who were sickest from obesity-related illnesses seemed to benefit the most from the growth.

Patients who had high levels of "bad" cholesterol and inflammation were also more likely to have Telomere growth than those were lower levels.
