Westlake dominated the second half to pull away from the Eagles and end the Arroyo Grande High boys basketball team's season with a 72-45 win in the first round of the Division II State Tournament on Wednesday.
Westlake improved to 27-5, while the Eagles finished the season 22-10 overall.
Arroyo Grande trailed 16-15 after the first quarter and 34-28 at halftime. However, Westlake outscored the Eagles 19-10 in the third quarter and 38-17 in the second half to win convincingly.
Cobe Williams led the Eagles with 13 points and Matt Willkomm added 12 points. DeSean Scott added 7 points and 7 rebounds.
Grant Lozoya led Westlake with a game-high 26 points and Jason Blumhardt added 11 points. The two combined for 5 of Westlake's 8 three-point baskets.
