Whale watching season on the Central Coast

Whale watching season is here on the Central Coast.

Four gray whales were spotted about 3 1/2 miles from Morro Bay on Thursday morning.

A whale watching boat out of Virg's Landing in Morro Bay saw whales surfacing, spouting and even saw some tails.

The whales were spotted off the coastline earlier in the week in about 300 feet of water.

They are coming from the Bering Sea in their annual migration to Mexico to give birth.

Whale watching season runs through April.
