A cold upper level low pressure has been spinning west of the Central Coast, and the easterly flow along its north side has been the focal point for convergence and therefore convection since Sunday. The dynamics were not as impressive today.
Statewide there were roughly 25,000 strikes Sunday alone, and it is estimated 100 fires began due to the activity.
