What you need to know about Stage Five of the Amgen Tour of California

The Amgen Tour of California has made its way to the Central Coast.

Cyclists finished Stage Four in Cambria Wednesday evening. Thursday is Stage Five of the race. It starts at the Pismo Beach Pier. KSBY's Victoria Johnson will be live during Daybreak with updates on road closures, viewing areas, and race preparations.

If you're hoping to catch the action, the riders will arrive in Pismo Beach at 10:15 a.m. They leave the pier at 11:45 a.m. From there, they'll hit Price Canyon at 11:50 a.m. and the Village of Arroyo Grande at noon. At 12:40 p.m., they'll make it to Highway 166 from Thompson Avenue. Then they'll use Bull Canyon Road to get into Santa Barbara County. First they'll go through Santa Maria, and then they'll take Foxen Canyon to Zaca Station and over Highway 154 to get through the Santa Ynez Valley. At 2:30 p.m. The cyclists will get over the mountain pass to Cachuma Lake, Los Olivos, and Santa Ynez. The first cyclists should hit the finish line in Santa Barbara around 3:45 p.m. The finish line is on Cabrillo Boulevard, just past Garden.

There are some road closures you should be aware of.

In Pismo Beach, steer clear of the 100 and 200 blocks of Pomeroy Avenue, as well as the pier parking lot and Hinds Street to the Pismo Beach City Limits.
