WASHINGTON (AP) - The White House says President Barack Obama will announce his plans next week for a "way forward" on long-stalled health care legislation.
White House press secretary Robert Gibbs told reporters on Friday that Obama officials and Democratic leaders in Congress will hold a few days of consultations before an announcement by the president on the next steps. Gibbs said the coming days will be a "fairly dynamic process."
Democratic leaders are also vowing to resurrect a comprehensive overhaul, with or without Republican suggestions or votes.
