This Thursday community leaders will take a pretty interesting look at the issue of homelessness locally. They'll hear from the homeless, and formally homeless about who it is living on the streets in our communities.
The evening will start with a clip from the film Homeless, Not Hopeless, showing the living conditions for someone homeless. The film won best local short in the 2011 San Luis Obispo International Film Festival. It will be followed by a panel discussion. Supervisor Jim Patterson will moderate and take questions from the audience for panel members.
Panel members include not only the homeless, but representatives from ECHO, The Link, North County Connection, Transitions-Mental Health Association, and People's Self Help Housing
The discussion is from 7-8 p.m. at the Community Church of Atascadero (Fellowship Hall at 5850 Rosario Ave. in Atascadero.
This event is sponsored by the Community Church of Atascadero, Homeless Services Coalition of North County, and SLO Homeless Services Oversight Council.
