It may seem that only annoying songs get stuck in our head, but a new study reveals the opposite is actually true.
Researchers found songs people know and love are more likely to repeat in the brain, and environmental cues triggered this phenomenon.
They also noticed if a song continued to play in someone's head immediately after hearing it, it was likely to recur within the next 24 hours.
Experts say these results help shed light on intrusive thoughts as well.
