Wildlife organization hosts annual fundraiser in Paso Robles

A local wildlife preservation organization is raising funds to continue their life-saving efforts.

Zoo to You hosted its annual fundraiser at the River Oaks Hot Springs in Paso Robles on Saturday.

It was the "wines, Chocolates, and Cheeses, Oh My!" event.

Guests could enjoy a silent auction, food, wine, and the organization's Animal Ambassadors.

"We take in all the abandoned, abused, neglected, unwanted wild animals and exotic animals from all over the country, but specifically from here in California. We get animals from Pacific Wildlife Care. We get people's ex-pets. It's very, very important for these animals to have a home," said Katelyn Cottle, the Zoo to You Curator.

The organization is currently working on a new welcome center, reptile exhibit, and event center with a stage.

Money raised at Saturday's event will help fund those projects.
