The National Weather Service has issued a wind advisory in effect until 3 AM Saturday for Santa Barbara and the South Coast including the mountain regions and San Marcos Pass, San Rafael Wilderness area and the cities of Santa Barbara, Montecito and Carpinteria. Northwest to north winds will gust between 15-30 miles per hour with the potential to gust to 45 mph. Travel may be difficult on Highway 101 between Santa Barbara and Gaviota. Strong sundowner winds will develop across Southern Santa Barbara County this afternoon and evening. This will mostly be centered near Gaviota and El Capitan with the potential for a temperature spike in the 80's or low 90's. Drivers, especially those in high profile vehicles, are advised to use caution.
