ENCINITAS, Calif. (AP) - Authorities in San Diego County say an 18-year-old woman fought off three would-be kidnappers who tried to get her into a pickup truck.
Sheriff's officials said in a statement that they are looking for three suspects in the Monday afternoon attack in Encinitas.
The statement says the woman realized the small truck was following her shortly before it pulled alongside her.
A young man told her to get into the truck and when she refused, he pulled her into the truck, where two older men sat.
The woman punched the driver bit one of the passengers, broke free and ran to a nearby residence.
The statement says authorities are looking for an older black pickup with orange stripes toward the top of the fenders and gardening equipment in the bed.
