Woman arrested, accused of assaulting 18 year old with a machete

A woman is behind bars and an 18-year-old man is in the hospital after officers say he was assaulted with a machete early Saturday morning.
It happened around 5:45 a.m. near the Laz E Daze in the 1300 block of North Broadway.
Officers say 39-year-old Christina Summers of Santa Maria knew the 18-year-old victim. The two were arguing when Summers hit the victim in the back of the head with a machete.
The victim is recovering from non- life threatening injuries at Marian Medical Center.
Summers was booked into the Santa Barbara County Jail in Goleta on a charge of Assault with a Deadly Weapon.
