Woman arrested after police say she entered apartment, attacked two people inside with baseball bat

A San Luis Obispo Woman was arrested Sunday morning after San Luis Obispo Police say she entered an apartment and attacked two people inside.

It happened around 9 a.m. in an apartment on Casa Street.

Police said two people woke up and found 32-year-old Sandra Lee Welsh stealing electronics and household items.

They say when the two people confronted Welsh, she picked up a wooden baseball bat and hit both of them, causing minor injuries.

The two people in the apartment were able to detain Welsh until police arrived.

Police say upon further investigation, they learned that Welsh had been discharged from Sierra Vista Regional Medical early Sunday morning.

They say they found Welsh in possession of other stolen items, which they learned were stolen from the hospital.

Welsh was booked into the San Luis Obispo County Jail on charges of robbery, residential burglary, and assault with a deadly weapon.

Her bail was set at $30,000.
