A Santa Maria woman has been arrested after police said she tried to murder a fetus.

Investigators say it happened Wednesday in the 400 block of East Newlove in Santa Maria.

They said 27 year-old Charity Ochoa attacked a pregnant witness who testified in her husband's murder trial.

Ochoa later turned herself into police.

She was booked into Santa Barbara County Jail on $1.5 million dollars bail.
Her husband, Moses Gutierrez was convicted of second degree murder on Tuesday.
