Woman killed in Buellton crash identified

Officials have identified the Santa Ynez woman killed in a roll-over crash in Buellton over the weekend.

The California Highway Patrol has identified her as Charlotte Rose McNeil Maclean, 19.

The crash happened Saturday around 7 p.m. in the 1600 block of Ballard Canyon Road.

Officials say a 16-year-old boy from Solvang was driving a Toyota pick-up truck.

Three people were inside the cab of the truck, and three people were riding in the open bed.

The driver lost control and the truck rolled.

Everyone in the back of the truck was thrown and Maclean was killed.

Five others were rushed to the hospital.

Sgt. Daniel Barba, with the California Highway Patrol, says, "Listen to that voice, that little voice that tells you it's not right. I would say abide by the restrictions on your drivers license. I would say think twice, think three times before you engage, you know, in ... you drive on any kind of a road you may not be ready for."

CHP has released the name of the 16-year-old driver, but KSBY News is not identifying him because he is a minor.
