The California Highway Patrol says a Los Osos teenager was driving at an unsafe speed for the conditions when she hit a woman and a two-year-old child on Nipomo Avenue Wednesday morning.

The CHP says there was a severe sun glare and that the 19-year-old driver didn't see the woman pushing a stroller near the edge of the roadway.

The 36-year-old woman and toddler both suffered major head injuries. The driver was not hurt.
