New research indicates women are more likely to experience hip implant failure.
A study of more than 35,000 total hip replacement surgeries finds men and women often receive different types of hip implants and that women were significantly more likely to need a revision within three years of surgery.
Researchers say this information will help them manage their patients, and create new, better-functioning hip implants.
