The San Francisco Giants are back home and celebrating their second World Series title in three years. The team arrived by a chartered jet Monday afternoon in San Francisco.

Manager Bruce Bochy carried the trophy down the stairs on the tarmac and was greeted by cheering fans, who were airport employees. The Giants completed a four-game sweep of the Detroit Tigers Sunday night.

Team President Larry Baer let some of the fans who met the team get an up-close look at the trophy.

City officials are planning a parade set for Wednesday, which is also Halloween. It will start at 11am and start at the foot of Market Street and continue to Civic Center Plaza.

The route is safer and affords better views than the previous one that was used to celebrate the 2010 championship.
