World-class violinist brings Beethoven to the PAC

This weekend, one of the top violinists in the world will wow an audience at the PAC in San Luis Obispo.

On Sunday night, Joshua Bell will perform several pieces of some of the best chamber music ever written for piano and violin. You'll hear the Beethoven Violin Sonata number 10--Opus 96, plus the Stravinsky Divertimento for Violin and Piano, the Tartini Violin Sonata in G Minor, and other works he'll announce from the stage.

Bell is frequently referred to as the "poet of the violin" and he is a true super-star in the classical world. He's recorded more than 40 albums, played with the top symphony orchestras in the world and he's currently music director of the Academy of St. Martin in the Fields, in London.

Bell will perform the duos with Sam Haywood on piano.

Bell will also give a pre-show lecture in the Performing Arts Center's Philips Recital Hall that starts an hour before the recital, at 6pm.
