The community is invited to tour a one-of-a-kind submarine on Sunday.
A replica of the S-44 will be on display at Last Stage West, on Highway 41 in between Atascadero and Morro Bay, from noon to 3 p.m.
The scaled-down replica was made in memory of the crew that was on the S-44, which sank 69 years ago.
The submarines were built through the 1920s, and were used in World War II.
Lloyd Reeves had the replica made from plans he obtained for the original S-44 from the National Archives.
This is the only replica of the S-44.
The event is free and open to the public.
