Wounded American and British Soldiers come to SLO County for the healing benefits of the Pacific

For the next week, injured British and American Soldiers will spend their time largely on the beaches of the central coast going through rehabilitation on surfboards. Amazing Surf Adventures is welcoming the arrival of the first group of soldiers to the area this afternoon when they arrive at the San Luis Obispo County Airport.

Eleven soliders who fought along side each other and American soliders in Afganistan or Iraq arrived on a flight at 4:15 and 10 American soldiers will arrive tomorrow morning at 10:15.

Amazing Surf Adventures will be hosting them for an Operation Surf rehabilitative camp starting tomorrow running through October 2nd. The group invited people to come be part of the welcoming crowd when the soldiers arrived and they invite you to be a part of the group tomorrow morning when the American soldiers arrive.

Each solder is given a goodie bag of donated items collected from around the community as well as the heartfelt show of thanks for their service upon arrival. The soldiers will attend surf clinics in Pismo Beach, Avila Beach, Cayucos, Morro Bay, and play golf at Avila Beach Golf Resort, so they have a busy week ahead of them.

Amazing Surf Adventures always needs volunteers so if you are interested, call Gary Breenan at (626) 484-2205.
