Studies have proven that yawning is contagious, and new research suggests man's best friend is not exempt.
Researchers in Tokyo found dogs yawn when they see a human yawn, especially if it is their owner.
They also found their heart rate doesn't increase when they yawn, eliminating the theory that dogs yawn as a sign of distress.
The researchers say dogs yawning in reaction to their owner is an emotional reaction.
