Some people in San Luis Obispo celebrated the opening of a new roller hockey rink at Santa Rosa Park with some good old fashioned competition.
The San Luis Obispo County YMCA Roller Hockey Program is holding a tournament this weekend at the new rink.
Roller hockey players say the new facility is a big improvement.
"The chain link fence is tucked in with this one but the old one it stuck out and you'd go by and it would tear your jersey when you'd go into it," said Tim Merdogul, who plays roller hockey. "The boards were also a little bit lower so it's definitely 100 percent better."
The tournament goes until 10 p.m. Saturday and kicks off again Sunday morning at 8:00.
