It's perfect weather to adopt an animal from a local shelter. Time now for Your Family Pet.
First up, Maggie. She is two and a half years old. Maggie is a little timid at first, but warms up with a little time and lovin'.
She's a Queensland mix and weighs 37 pounds. Mags would probably do best in an only-dog home.
She is house-trained and likes going for cruises in the car. Maggie is at the Santa Maria Valley Humane Society.
Next we have Pongo. He is a handsome Dalmatian. He is especially distinctive because he is white with brown, rather than black, spots.
Pongo is great with other dogs and is in good health. Though Pongo is about 9 years old, he's not a slowpoke and enjoys regular exercise.
He can be found at the San Luis Obispo County Animal Shelter.
And finally there is Trooper. He is a 5-year-old tan and white Corgi-Basset Hound mix... a Corset... who's been a guest of Woods Humane Society since December.
Trooper is a sweet dog that is neutered, vaccinated, micro chipped, and leash trained. He is a little shy, but quickly warms up to anyone willing to give him a pat on the head.
He rides very well in the car, gets along great with other dogs, and is perfect for someone looking for a quite, mellow dog.
And catch Your Family Pet every Tuesday on KSBY News at 5.
