The rains are still here. And so are a lot of animals at local shelters. They would love to be adopted into a warm and dry home. Here's tonight's edition of Your Family Pet.
Let's begin with Maggie. She's currently at the Santa Maria Valley Humane Society. Maggie is a very sweet and friendly Blue Point Siamese cat who enjoys giving you kisses and "kneading" your furniture or your lap.
She spent the first one and a half years of her time following her owner around and bird watching. Maggie lived as an indoor-only cat and lived with children. She will show her gratitude by cuddling and giving you "hugs".
Next we have Miguel. Miguel is a 3-year-old medium haired black cat with a strong bear like face and big round golden eyes. He is extremely loving and affectionate and won't hesitate to seek you out and jump in your lap.
Miguel can be found at Woods Humane Society. He is neutered, vaccinated, litter box trained and great with other cats. And with his calm, loving nature, he should be ok with children.
And finally there is Kuma. She is four years old. She's a charming cat and, as you can see by her photo, she loves to play hide-and-seek or even a game of peek-a-boo.
Kuma, along with other cats will be available for adoption saturday, January 30 from 10 am to 4 pm on the front lawn of the San Luis Obispo County Animal Shelter.
And you can watch Your Family Pet every Tuesday on KSBY News at Five.
