Standing at a height of 6 feet, 7 inches tall, Bill Halter could be mistaken as a professional basketball player. After playing basketball in college, Bill decided he wanted to make a living covering sports from the sidelines.

Bill joined the KSBY News team in 2010 as Weekend Sports Anchor and Multi-Media Journalist from KFYR-TV in Bismarck, North Dakota where he was a sports anchor and reporter. While in North Dakota, Bill produced and hosted two weekly coach's shows. One show was for the local university, the other for the Dakota Wizards, the NBA D-League team in Bismarck.

In addition to covering local and national sports, Bill enjoys doing play-by-play announcing for football and basketball games. He is pretty good at it too, as the Northwest Broadcast News Association honored him with first place awards in the play-by-play category three years in a row.

Bill holds a bachelors degree in Broadcast Journalism from the University of Wisconsin, River Falls where he also minored in coaching. He learned the ropes of sports reporting while interning at KARE-TV in Minneapolis, Minnesota and was frequently sent out to cover the Twins and Vikings.

When not covering or watching sports, Bill loves competing in them. He also has an interest in politics. And oh yes, he is a movie buff.
