After spending weekends and holidays, relaxing and enjoying all the Central Coast has to offer, California native Connie Tran joined the KSBY News team in July of 2012 as a Multimedia Journalist. Prior to reporting for KSBY, Connie was a reporter/multimedia journalist for KBAK/KBFX, the CBS/Fox duopoly in Bakersfield. She's also worked in the newsrooms of KNBC in Los Angeles as well as Crown City News in Pasadena.

Connie earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication Studies from Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles. One of the highlights of her college experience was spending six months abroad in London, England where she wrote for the local business newspaper. She also cut her news teeth while interning with Dateline NBC.

"Studying abroad was an experience of a lifetime. I was able to see so many different cultures, and how they interact. It really made me realize how important ‘community' is and made me want to get out and experience my own community here at home, and tell those stories," she said.

When Connie is not crunching to meet daily news deadlines, she enjoys exploring the local food scene, visiting our local tasting rooms, hiking and supporting our local economy. She loves to shop!
