We have three treatment rooms. Two are private with one treatment chair, and one room has two treatment chairs. The chairs are lush leather recliners for your comfort. We provide blankets and a relaxing environment during your time here. We have two oncology registered nurses. They initiate access to your veins, mix the chemo in the pharmacy and provide all of your care. We try to keep our nurse-to-patient ratio low to provide you with the care and attention you deserve. You are welcome to bring your own food, and any laptop device for your entertainment. Family members are also welcome, but please limit to one at a time to keep the noise level down.
Dr. Palchak developed a passion for research in cancer care early in his career, believing that "the only way to make cancer treatments better and more effective with fewer side effects is to study new drugs, combinations, and treatments." We understand that coming to see an oncologist is a stressful event. We will do our best to get an appointment for you within one week of you or your doctor's call to us. To make the visit as easy on you as possible, we ask that you bring a few things with you:
- List of medications, herbs, or supplements you are currently taking
- List of allergies that you have to medications and/or treatments
- List of questions you have (tape recorders are welcome)
- Friend or family member
We will ask you to sign various papers to release information to your insurance company and other doctors. We will seek authorization from your insurance company unless we tell you otherwise.
Dr. Palchak will review your records prior to your visit. Your scheduled time with the doctor will be one hour. Expect to use the first 45 minutes for discussion and to answer your questions. The last 15 minutes will be used to take the rest of your medical history. A second appointment is frequently needed for the physical exam. Information provided will help determine your best treatment options.
