  Thorton is a 5-year-old Rottweiler/Boxer mix who loves playing fetch at the San Luis Obispo County Animal Shelter. Thorton is very affectionate and even knows basic commands like sit, stay and down. He would do well with a family, kids and he gets along well with other dogs.

  Your Family Pet: Darlin

  Darlin is 5 years old. She is an Australian Shepard mix who has lots of energy, so she will do best with an active family who has had dogs before. Darlin would also be just find with kids older than seven. You can find Darlin at Woods Humane Society.

  If you are looking for a feline friend, Gregory could be the cat for you. This little guy is looking for a new lease on life after he was one of more than 40 cats rescued from a hoarder. Gregory loves to play, he also gets along well with other cats and currently calls North County Humane Society home.

  Your Family Pet: Ranger

  Ranger is a 1-year-old Australian/Cocker Spaniel mix who is very friendly and playful. Ranger will need a bit of leash training but his big personality will more than make up for it. You can find Ranger at the Santa Maria Valley Humane Society.

  After all Kirby has been through, KSBY is happy to report he's happy, healthy, and adjusting well to his new permanent home with Susan Wood of Paso Robles.

  Your Family Pet: Audrey

  Three-year-old Audrey arrived at the North County Humane Society after being abandoned in a neighborhood. Audrey gets along with other cats and should do just fine with dogs. She is also very smart and social.

  If you cannot adopt but you still want to lend some support, mark your calendars! Chili's in Paso Robles will donate a portion of its proceeds to the North County Humane Society on August 25.

  Fox is a Chihuaha mix who is almost five years old. He is house trained, loves to snuggle and be held, and would make a great lap dog. You can find Fox at Santa Maria Valley Humane Society.

  Otis arrived at Woods Humane Society when he was about 10 weeks old, but he's now four months old. This orange Tabby is more than ready to go home. He is just one of several kittens and cats available for adoption at the shelter.

  If you're looking for an older pet, 4-year-old Spot could be the cat for you. He arrived at the San Luis Obispo County Animal Shelter as a stray back in June, and he's looking for a lap to call his own. He is neutered, has all his shots and cannot get enough affection.
