Mother Nature had her way again. It looks like bunnies hopped under our fencing, and maybe even deer hopped over our fencing and got to our monster vine number three.

I had two pumpkins just developing beautifully on this monster vine, almost getting to the size of a volleyball. They would (More) • Photos (2)

Big Henry! That is the name of our pumpkin, and I think Dr. Joe Sabol will be very pleased. I was speaking with Darlene Chavez with the Foodbank of Santa Barbara County this evening and she insisted that the pumpkin have a name, "How about Big Henry," she said.

Have you ever seen split vines on your pumpkins?

We did, and Dr. Joe Sabol had never seen this before. We had a puzzle on our hands so Dr. Sabol consulted his experts.
