Do your pumpkin leaves wilt in the afternoon even though you watered your pumpkin just that morning? 

That's OK! The leaves tend to do that on hot afternoons.

We have pumpkin flowers on our vines finally!

Both male and female flowers have appeared on vine number 1, so Dr. Sabol came up to KSBY today and switched our fertilizer to 6-30-30 as I mentioned inthe article below titled, "It's July and you should have pumpkin flowers!" 

Onward and upward!

Bury your main vine as it grows with fine soil, not the leaves, so roots will form quickly at every node. Be careful you don't cover your potential pumpkin!

Well, we don't have flowers on our pumpkins yet but all of you serious competition pumpkin growers do!

Dr. Sabol visited us today, bringing us another vibrant, healthy pumpkin plant! We lost one of our plants already today to some sort of little animal enjoying life up here on the KSBY hillside. Giant pumpkins are growing at KSBY thanks to Farm Supply and Dr. Joe Sabol who has been such a help in planting our "little monsters," as he so lovingly calls them.
