A game changing interception by Atascadero High's Chase Young has been dubbed the Week 12 Friday Night Highlights Play of the Week. It happened in the middle of the first quarter in the Greyhounds' 30-14 win over Canyon in the CIF quarterfinals.

Taylor Cornejo set the tone for the Lompoc Braves in their 42-7 opening win in the CIF playoffs against St. Francis last Friday. The senior, who missed a few games with an injury, received the opening kickoff and returned it 90 yards for a touchdowns just 12 seconds into the game.

With the game tied at 21-21 in the fourth quarter in a key Pac 7 League showdown with rival San Luis Obispo, Arroyo Grande senior Jimmy Gutierrez wrestled the ball out of the arms of a Tiger running back. The play of the week for high school football games played on October 19 is the 25 yard touchdown pass from Robbie Berwick to Wayde Vierra with 43 seconds left in the Atascadero-St. Joseph game. The touchdown completed a 17 point fourth quarter comeback for the Greyhounds that earned them a 28-24 win.
