Cleanup crews remove booms from Refugio State Beach

Posted: Updated:

Cleanup crews removed booms from Refugio State Beach on Saturday.

This comes almost four weeks after a Plains All American Pipeline leaked thousands of gallons of oil on the South Coast.

More than 10,000 feet of booms were deployed to help prevent further spreading of the oil and to protect more sensitive areas.

Within the past two days Plains All American announced that any remaining oil in the water is not from their leaky pipe.

Cleanup crews are now shifting their focus onshore to clean up contaminated soil.
