Lovin' Lunchbox program feeds schoolkids during summer break

Posted: Updated:

Kids who rely on free or reduced-price school lunches have a place to get free snacks and lunches this summer.

The Food Bank Coalition of San Luis Obispo County is hosting a Lovin' Lunchbox program at 14 sites across the region. The program is open to all kids 18-years old and younger.

The SLO Food Bank is also teaming up with the San Luis Obispo County libraries to host snack or lunch events in Cambria, San Luis Obispo, Morro Bay and Nipomo.

The library in Nipomo is teaming up with the Trilogy Service Club to feed 30 to 40 kids three days a week until August 7.

"We're here Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and the children and the families are assured that they will be served a healthy lunch," said Amy Hedges, Trilogy Service Club President.
