The California Highway Patrol has identified the motorcyclist killed in a crash on Highway 154 Friday afternoon as Ryan Bollay, 20, of Santa Ynez.
CHP says Bollay was riding his motorcycle west on Highway 154 when he hit an SUV that was turning left from E. Camino Cielo around 3:20 p.m., causing his motorcycle to reportedly catch on fire.
Emergency crews performed CPR on Bollay at the scene. He was taken to the hospital, but died from his injuries.
The other driver, a 63-year-old man from Panorama City, was treated for minor injuries.
The cause of the crash is under investigation. CHP says it is not known if drugs or alcohol played a role, but according to the Santa Barbara County Fire Department, Bollay was reportedly traveling at a high rate of speed.
