Posted: Updated:

Authorities have made an arrest in connection to a shots fired investigation that began Thursday in Oceano.

The San Luis Obispo County Sheriff's Office says deputies responded to the 1500 block of Ocean Thursday afternoon after reports of shots fired in the area.

The sheriff's office says it determined the shots were fired at a passing car from a nearby home and the incident is believed to be gang related.

The vehicle reportedly involved in the incident has been recovered and has bullet holes in it, according to officials. A gun believed to be the one used was recovered at the scene.

Witnesses told the sheriff's office they saw a vehicle leave the area after hearing the shots.

Authorities arrested Jose Angel Castillo, 38, of Oceano for attempted murder. The incident remains under investigation.
