After the grocery chain Haggen announced it was filing for bankruptcy and closing, more than 400 local workers were left unemployed.

Thursday, a job fair was held in Atascadero to help those looking for work get job-seeking tips and talk with employers from some local businesses.

The first hour was open only for Haggen employees and brought in management from places like Miner's Ace Hardware, Chipotle, Atascadero State Hospital, Goodwill, and KCBX.

Another job fair will take place Tuesday, November 17, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Grover Beach Ramona Gardens.

Back in September, Haggen filed for chapter 11 bankruptcy and announced it was closing all of its stores in California, Arizona and Nevada.

Several Haggen stores in San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara counties went up for auction earlier this week.
