Big catch for Cape Cod fisherman: $10M lottery prize

Posted: Updated:

WELLFLEET, Mass. (AP) - Talk about a big catch: A self-employed Cape Cod shellfisher has won $10 million playing the lottery.

The Massachusetts State Lottery says William Young, Jr., of Wellfleet is the second person to win the top prize in the lottery's new "$10,000,000 Mega Fortune" game.

Young opted to pocket cash winnings and received a one-time payment of $6.5 million before taxes.

The lottery said Tuesday he plans to use his winnings to help his family and invest.

It said the winning ticket was sold at an Express Mart on Route 6 in Wellfleet.
