San Luis Obispo County Sheriff's deputies arrested a man wanted for sexual acts with a child after a slow speed chase through a portion of San Luis Obispo County.

Sheriff's officials say they got a tip that Johnny Manuel Guerrero, 39, was staying at a motel in Arroyo Grande. They followed him onto Highway 101 after he left the motel at around 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday.

Deputies reportedly tried to initiate a traffic stop in Pismo Beach, but Guerrero continued northbound. He eventually pulled over near the Prado Road exit in San Luis Obispo and was arrested.

Sheriff's officials say a loaded gun was found in his car.

In addition to charges of sexual penetration of a child under 14, lewd acts with a child under 14, and using an electronic device to invade a person's privacy, Guerrero now faces charges of possession of a loaded firearm in public and evading a peace officer.

Sheriff's officials say speeds during the pursuit never exceeded 65 miles per hour.

Last week, Guerrero was the Sheriff's Most Wanted Wednesday featured suspect.
