Jose Angel Castillo, 38, is the San Luis Obispo County Sheriff's Most Wanted Wednesday suspect this week.

Castillo is wanted for assault with a firearm in connection with a drive-by shooting in Oceano last October. In that incident, Sheriff's officials said someone fired shots at a passing vehicle along the 1500 block of Ocean Street. No one was hurt. Investigators believed the shooting to be gang-related.

Castillo was arrested shortly after the shooting, but Sheriff's officials say a judge let him out of jail on a two-day waiver and he failed to turn himself back in.

Castillo is described as 5'9" tall and 200 pounds. He was last seen in Oceano.

If you have any information on his whereabouts, you're asked to contact the Sheriff's Office at (805) 781-4550 or Crime Stoppers at (805) 549-STOP. You can also text a tip to Crime Stoppers by texting "SLOTIPS" plus your message to CRIMES (274637).

Tips to Crime Stoppers can be made anonymously and callers are eligible to receive a cash reward if the information provided leads to an arrest and conviction of a felony offender.
