Santa Maria Times cuts Monday newspaper

Posted: Updated:

Subscribers of the Santa Maria Times will be getting one less newspaper per week.
Starting immediately, the Times will no longer be delivered on Mondays.
Managing Editor for Lee Central Coast News, Marga Cooley, released the following statement:
"Business models across the country are changing with more emphasis on digital. As the model changes we're investing our resources in the markets that are most profitable to us. The people who are working on the Times Press-Recorder and the Adobe are being reassigned to the Santa Ynez Valley News and will continue regional coverage of South SLO County issues. Subscribers to the TPR are also Santa Maria Times subscribers, and we'll continue to deliver the Santa Maria Times to subscribers in that market."

Cooley adds that the content of the newspaper will not change

The Lompoc Record, which is owned by the same company, was reduced to just Wednesdays and Sundays several months ago.
