Posted: Updated:

The City of Lompoc has received a grant of $307,450 from the California Department of Housing and Community Development to improve Thompson Park.

Phase one of the project which is currently underway is renovating the ball field. That project is expected to be completed by early November. The grant will help provide funding for phase two of the project. Those improvements are still being planned.

"We're really happy to see that we can make more renovations to this park and our community can come and enjoy a renovated Thompson Park," said Teresa Gallavan Economic Development Director, Lompoc Assistant City Manager.

California had over $27 million in grant funds that were awarded to various communities.
